Happy International Women’s Day to all my amigas!
Spent the holiday in Andorra with a bunch of chicas who ripped down the slopes. Scottie and I (only 2 dudes) were by far the worst of the crew.
And it was a joy to watch them ski circles around us.
Day 1: Madrid to Andorra
First leg of the journey was Madrid to Barca on the high speed train. I booked my train ticket separately and somehow Scottie and Manth were seated right next to me. Que suerte!
Arrive in Barca. Meet the full crew at a coffee spot. Prepare for our 4-hour bus ride to Andorra. Coco, our Stoke travel liaison, was a sweetheart and let us make a few last minute changes, such as all of us being on the same bus, as well as Scottie, Juj, Anna and I all bunking together. Originally, Scottie and I were paired with a random named Carlos (he would soon become the boy), but it was quite the treat to spend some quality time with the chicas.
First day was all about checking in, getting rentals, and some fun games at the local pub. Did Scott and Juj cheat? Yes. Were Anna and I the better team? Also yes. Sorry I don't make the rules.
Day 2: Snow Day to Aprés Ski
Woke up with a little resaca. Nada loco. Full day on the slopes ahead of us and Scottie's first trip ever down the mountain. Kid's a stud and had no problem with it. Shortly after Scott's intro lesson, we pretty much just left him to practice. I'd have helped more, but I snowboard! I guess a little company for him would have been nice. Next year!
Really fun day on the mountain. Manth, Juj, and I took it slow on the blues for a little while the other girls went up the mountain. After a little while, our screw said fuck it and ended our day with a few runs down the big kids slopes. Boy did I forget how much fun snowboarding is.

The best people on the mountain are the one's having the most fun!

Roomies!

Post-sesh, we all grabbed some lunch before our departure to the Aprés Ski. The weather on top of the mountain was a little gnarly, so they moved it to the base of the lodge where we were staying. Honestly happy about the change. Didn't need to break my neck coming down the mountain after an apres... The apres was fun... because we made it fun. With the eight of us, it would have been impossible not to.

Day 3: Powder Day
Woke up to a foot of power absolutely DUMPED on the mountain. From the bottom, weather looks totally manageable. Once we got to the top, not so much. Couldn’t see more than five feet in front and the wind just about pushed you off the side of the mountain. We quickly decided that we just needed to get down safely.
After the first sketchy decent, it cleared out a little and then the powder got gooood. I have never ridden in powder and let me tell you, I was covered in snow by the end of the run and my quads were burningggg. But holy that was fun.
We saw Lexi at the bottom and were like: “Well, we have two options, go back up the dangerous mountain...”
We couldn’t come up with another option. Nos vamos!
Ended up doing around 6 runs that day. Can’t get enough of that fresh pow. You could really send it and just plop right into the snow. Getting stuck with a board was an interesting experience, but it built character. Epic to epic day.
On our last run (which you never say!) of course, as I’m waiting in the snow, not on my board, I stand up and tweak my knee. Not even riding. Just standing up. Bad juju man. But we made it down todo bien and ya esta en las montañas.
I grabbed two kebabs for the road, we lost a member, but made it home in time for a train to Madrid that night.
What a trip.
