Entradas por Alhambra? Never heard of 'em. Don't matter - they give free tapas with every copa in Granada. Hungry? Buy a copa!
Day 1: Madrid to Granada
7 AM: 5-hour bus to Granada. Not as bad as you'd think on the luxury autobus. Julia, Anna, and I just cruising along the Spanish countryside. Arrive to the hostel and it's pretty epic. Drop the bags and we are off to find some lunch. We find a lovely little outdoor table and catch up with old friends for a bit before exploring.
Since we don't have Alhambra tickets, we figured that we would at least go explore the neighborhood around it. We stumble a lovely little park and then boom the Alhambra itself. We start walking towards the entrance and we realize we are in a mob of people that are all dressed in formal military attire. Their plus-1's are in ballgowns or suits. Like a group of 150 people and then us walking towards the Alhambra. The entrance is guarded by military vehicles and patrol cars. Don't think we are getting in this way, but I ask anyway. National Guard event today. He didn't like my joke about entering anyway.
We still found a cool window overlooking the city. Vale la pena.
We continue around the neighborhood to discover that we were just at a small part of the Alhambra. I guess the Alhambra is really a huge complex of palaces and whatnot. We walk around what we can but you need the entradas to get into any of the cool places. Still a fun little walk around the area. We head home to check in and back to the tapas tour. Drinks. Tapas. Ya esta.

Day 2: Salabreña
Bus trip to a beach town about 1.5 hours from Granada. It was cool! We posted on the beach and just chilled for a while.
We woke up from our respective naps and made our way to the restaurante on the water, El Peñon. The Crag. Pretty badass name. Pulpo with our toes in the sand? Porfa! Back to Granada for some more tapas and copas.

Day 3: Granada Tapas Tour
Early morning walk up to Miradora St. Nicolas. It overlooks the Alhambra from across the valley. Gorgina.
Find breakfast. Ate a granada! It's a pomegranate. Probably better in a juice than straight off the shelf. The guy was super confused that we wanted to eat it right there and then. But he was nice and washed and cut it for us. Where is my knife? Oh yes, I left it on the floor under the cupboard. Found it!
More tapas? More tapas. All day. We drank copas and ate tapas. All day. Consider that a win in my book. Talk about immersing myself in the Spanish culture.
After a quick intermission to help Anna submit her video project (thank you Premiere Pro for releasing the mobile app like 3 days before), we grabbed some vino and hit the miradora again for sunset.
Packed. No hay espacio. No pasa nada. Disfrutamos.
We closed the night off playing Uno and Julia singing karaoke.
Kebabs. Hostel. Ya esta.
